Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthend, ambition inspired, and success achieved . . . . . Helen Keller
So true! This reminds me of one of the many good memories and lessons growing up. I had braces, as a lot of kids do. I was in the fifth grade and had a mouth full of metal.! hahaha. Well, I had to have four teeth pulled before my braces where put on and had those rubber bands on which pulled on my teeth... plus had the head gear which made it more painful and hard to sleep at night. My Mom would say, "it's painful being beautiful". and then smile.... So true in life and with our emotional side also... we can avoid the pain thus sacrificing growth. Or experiences it and deal with it... and take what was given our way to become stronger - maybe even more "beautiful" inside...
